Every April, a quiet migration begins inside private capital finance teams: calendars fill, travel gets booked months in advance, and the year's operating playbook gets shaped in hotel ballrooms from Chicago to Miami. The CFO and COO conference circuit is not a luxury. It is where pricing pressure on fund admins, AI-in-valuations debates, SEC rule-making signals, and the next generation of LP reporting standards all get sorted out.
We pulled together the full 2026–2027 U.S. conference map for private capital C-suite teams, cross-referenced it against 484 named CFOs across Private Equity, Hedge Fund, Private Credit, and Investment Banking Advisory firms, and ran the list past a 30-CFO advisory panel: 15 Tier-1 ($100B–$1.3T AUM) and 15 mid-market ($10B–$60B AUM), all U.S.-headquartered.
Below is what the calendar actually looks like from inside a finance function. The full visual is downloadable as a one-page PDF at the end of the article.

The three non-negotiables
Three events came out of our panel with essentially universal coverage — every CFO we surveyed picked all three in their top 10:
- 01Private Funds CFO New York Forum (PEI) — annual early-February, NYC. 700+ CFOs, COOs, CCOs, General Counsels. If your title starts with "Chief" and ends in "Officer," you have a standing invitation.
- 02ILPA Summit — November 3–5, 2026, NYC. 100+ global LPs in one room, curated GP match-making, an emerging-manager showcase, and an LP-only day before the main summit. The highest-density LP-GP engagement event of the year.
- 03SuperReturn CFO/COO North America — May 12–14, 2026, The Gwen Hotel, Chicago. Informa's "ultimate C-suite network," literally titled for operations and compliance leaders. The 2026 speaker roster already includes KKR, TPG, General Atlantic, Morgan Stanley IM, MetLife IM, Hellman & Friedman, Lone Star, and StepStone.
If your 2026 conference budget only covers three trips, these are it.

The LPGP Connect signal
The single most under-rated finding from our panel: LPGP Connect's CFO/COO series — New York, Miami, San Francisco — ranks as high as Informa's SuperReturn in mid-market CFO picks.
Three reasons why:
- Right-sized. One day, 100–150 attendees, CFO/COO only. No portfolio managers, no fundraising pitch decks, no corporate development.
- Concentrated. Past speakers include General Atlantic, H.I.G. Capital, Veritas Capital, Lindsay Goldberg, Siguler Guff, TIFF, Blue Owl, Centerbridge, SK Capital — exactly the cohort a mid-market CFO wants peer-time with.
- Calendar-friendly. Same-week companion events (Operating Partners Summit, AI/Data/Tech in Private Markets) let an NYC-based CFO cover three back-to-back programs in 48 hours.
If you've been spending May and November at Informa flagships and wondering why the hallway conversations feel thin, LPGP may be what's missing from your calendar.
Where Tier-1 and mid-market diverge
Our panel surfaced two distinct attendance patterns.
Tier-1 CFOs ($100B+ AUM) lean into national flagships and MFA:
- SuperReturn North America 2027 (Miami, Feb 1–3) and SuperReturn CFO/COO NA (May 12–14, Chicago) appear on 14–15 of 15 Tier-1 calendars.
- MFA Ops events — Treasury & Finance, Data/Tech/AI, Human Capital — matter most for multi-strategy platforms that blend PE with hedge or credit (Apollo, KKR, Carlyle, Bain).
- PDI New York Forum (Sep 15–16) is a must-attend for anyone with a credit arm.
- Travel budget is unconstrained; time is the scarce resource.
Mid-market CFOs ($10B–$60B AUM) weight heavily toward regional and LP-discovery events:
- DealMAX (ACG's Vegas flagship, April 27–29) appears on 11 of 15 mid-market calendars.
- McGuireWoods Emerging Manager Conference (Dallas, April 14–15 for Buyouts; September 1–2 for Beyond Buyouts) ranks in the top 10 for firms still raising Funds III–VI.
- Regional ACG chapters matter more than national events for local deal pipeline. Our Chicago-based mid-market CFOs all picked Great Lakes Capital Connection + ACG Midwest Capital Connection + Markets Group PE Chicago as a local trifecta.
The mid-market calendar is stitched together from closer-to-home events. The Tier-1 calendar is a steady rhythm of the industry's 10 biggest stages.
The single highest-leverage week of 2026
If you have to pick one week to be in New York, pick the first three weeks of November 2026.
- Nov 3–5 — ILPA Summit
- Nov 10 — MFA Ops: Data, Tech & AI
- Nov 17–18 — SuperReturn NA + SuperReturn Private Credit NA (NYC edition)
- Nov 18 — LPGP Connect CFO/COO Private Equity New York
Four top-10 events in one city across 15 days. Our 30-CFO panel covers 25 of 30 panelists at least once across this four-event cluster. If you are planning GTM calendar commitments for 2026, this is the window to be on the ground.
What about compliance and ops-only events?
Three compliance-focused events made our shortlist but are not universal picks:
- MFA Legal & Compliance — May 13, 2026, NY Athletic Club. GC/CCO/regulatory affairs focus. Confirmed 2026 speakers include the SEC Division of Investment Management director and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, alongside GCs from Samlyn, AB CarVal, Wellington, and Avantyr.
- NSCP National Conference — October 25–28, 2026, Orlando. 2,000+ compliance professionals. Lower CFO density, but the default calendar item if your CCO is the decision-maker.
- IAA Investment Adviser Compliance Conference — early March 2027, Washington DC. SEC engagement, registered-adviser focus. The event where regulatory rule-change reactions get socialized first.
How we built the list
We indexed 484 U.S. and global private capital CFOs across Tier-1 ($70B+ AUM) and mid-market ($2B–$70B AUM) segments. For each event we scored:
- Public speaker roster × directory hit-rate
- Sponsor composition (which fund admins, valuations tools, and reporting platforms buy booths tells you who the audience is)
- Geographic fit relative to each CFO's HQ
- Time-cost and historical attendance patterns
The 30-CFO advisory panel we ran this list past leaned on published priorities, communication styles, and decision patterns for each executive. Some real data came through: Thoma Bravo CFO Amy Coleman Redenbaugh's profile explicitly names her as a repeat speaker at Private Funds CFO NY, Markets Group PE Chicago Forum, and LPGP CFO/COO — four of her top-10 picks are factual rather than simulated.
Takeaways for your 2026 calendar
- 01Lock in the three non-negotiables by the end of April: Private Funds CFO NY, ILPA Summit, SuperReturn CFO/COO NA. Registration for the flagship slots fills by August.
- 02Add LPGP Connect's NY and (if you are West Coast) SF events. They are the peer-density events that the bigger conferences dilute.
- 03If you are a mid-market fund still raising, budget for McGuireWoods Emerging Manager and at least one regional ACG chapter conference.
- 04For multi-strategy platforms with credit or hedge exposure, MFA Ops: Treasury & Finance (early March 2027) and PDI NY Forum (September 15–16) are the sleeper picks.
- 05Plan NYC the first three weeks of November. Four top-10 events, one hotel, one plane ticket.
A note from the Equiforte Marketing Team
We don't just write about these — we go to them. Below is the short list our team has personally eyed up for 2026: where we'll be on the ground, who we want to learn from, and which hallway conversations we are planning around.
Our favorite — and where you'll find us first
SuperReturn CFO/COO North America — May 12–14, 2026, The Gwen Hotel, Chicago. This is the seed event for everything in this report and the one our team is most excited about. The agenda is the most direct match for the CFOs and COOs we built Equiforte for, the Chicago venue keeps it focused (no resort distractions), and the speaker bench reads like a who's who of the firms we already work with. If you can only meet us once in 2026, meet us here.
Eyes on for the rest of the year
- DealMAX 2026 (ACG) — April 27–29, Las Vegas. The gateway to mid-market PE conversations. We'll be in the lobby with coffee.
- MFA Ops: Treasury & Finance — March (2027 edition). Single-day, deeply technical, and exactly the conversations our product team wants to be part of.
- LPGP Connect Operating Partners NY — May 20, 2026. The companion to LPGP CFO/COO NY in November. Smaller, sharper, all signal.
- ILPA Summit — November 3–5, 2026, NYC. We'll be there for the LP-side conversations. If you're a GP attending, send us a note in advance.
- Private Funds CFO New York Forum — early February 2027, NYC. The big one. We'll have a presence and we want to host a side-event for the CFOs in our network — reach out if you'd like an invite.
If you'll be at any of the above, drop us a line at [hello@equiforte.com](mailto:hello@equiforte.com). We're booking coffees, dinners, and demos already.
