Product Manager, Reporting
Product | Boston | Full-time
About the Role
As Product Manager for Reporting at Equiforte, you will own the product roadmap for our core reporting capabilities — the workflows that take raw portfolio data and transform it into the quarterly LP letters, board packages, valuation work papers, and regulatory filings that define a private capital firm's relationship with its investors and auditors.
This is a role for someone who can speak credibly with CFOs and Controllers about their reporting challenges, translate that domain understanding into precise product requirements, and work directly with engineering to ship high-quality software quickly. You will be the connective tissue between our clients' operational reality and the engineering team building the platform.
What you'll do
- Own the product roadmap for Equiforte's reporting capabilities — LP letters, quarterly close workflows, valuation documentation, audit packages, and regulatory filings
- Conduct discovery with CFOs, Controllers, and fund finance professionals at client firms to understand reporting workflows, pain points, and quality standards
- Write detailed product specifications and user stories that give engineering the clarity to execute with speed and precision
- Define and track success metrics for reporting features — accuracy, turnaround time, LP satisfaction, and adoption
- Work with ML Engineering to set accuracy requirements for AI-generated content and build the evaluation frameworks that measure them
- Represent the reporting product in cross-functional planning, balancing client urgency with engineering capacity
- Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape in private capital reporting and fund administration
This role reports to the Chief Product Officer and works closely with Engineering, ML Engineering, and Client Success.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in fintech, financial services, or enterprise SaaS
- Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous customer discovery and translate qualitative insights into detailed product specs
- Experience shipping complex, data-intensive products with strong quality requirements
- Comfort working directly in a technical environment — reading data models, understanding API contracts, and engaging meaningfully in architecture discussions
- Excellent written communication — crisp PRDs, clear user stories, and well-reasoned product decisions
- Track record of building strong relationships with both clients and engineering teams
Nice to Have
- Direct experience in private capital, fund administration, or institutional asset management
- Familiarity with LP reporting, quarterly close processes, or regulatory filing workflows
- Experience with AI or ML-powered products where accuracy and reliability are critical
- Prior experience as a founder, operator, or advisor at an early-stage company
- CFA, CPA, or equivalent finance credential
- Experience at a high-growth startup (Series A through C)
